Must Read: Community Chat Changes
Posted on December 19, 2015 by Unclear
Hey everyone,
Hi, I'm Albert, one of the two Community Managers here. I'm now in charge of all things related to community rules and user moderation.
For a long time, our Community Chat has served the dual purpose of a tool for inquisitive learners and a social communication platform. This has caused a handful of issues in what is appropriate for the Community Chat. The administration has been slow to respond and rather inconsistent because frankly we weren't sure what to do.
To help remedy this, I will be leading an effort to strengthen moderation over the chat.
However, I am a firm believer in everyone's right to speak their mind, whether it be online or offline. It really is just a matter of whether it is the right place or time. So, I will also be maintaining an (almost completely) unmoderated off-site chat for ScriptingHelpers on a popular communication platform named Discord, as an option for those of you who wish to keep in touch but find the increased moderation restrictive. In fact, I highly encourage everyone to join. You can join our community by clicking on this link.
After joining our Discord server, try to catch one of the server admins (or me, @YonaJune). If you're interested in reserving your username by promoting your user from a temporary one to a permanent one, you can verify your ScriptingHelpers username with an admin by messaging them requesting to get a server rank.
I look forward to working with all of you!
