Take your time and only learn scripting if you enjoy it. I found that the best way to begin was by taking a look at the wiki tutorials and checking out some of the Youtube videos Roblox made.

Hi! I'm also a beginner to scripting, but I have found a few useful sources. First of all, to know the most basic things, youtube is a good place to start. Here is a short, amazing video to start with. It's on the official ROBLOX channel and provides a great starting point. From there, there is a series on the same official channel; you can find the first video here. It agaim starts small, but as the videos go on they branch out to more and more things.

Aside from youtube, the wiki is probably your most valuable resource. You can find most subjects and how to use them in one nifty website. The site you are currently on is also another great resource. Everybody here is willing to help you out, so use this website to your advantage!

Learning how to script is a really hard thing, but therr is one thing you need to remember: start small. Eventually, you will be able to achieve bigger and better things.
