What's the correct way to pronounce GUI? [closed]

Asked by 9 years ago

I mean, I know this isn't relevant and all, but everyone pronounces it differently, and I want to know, what is the correct way?

Graphical User Interface

Graphical User Interface, commonly known as GUI can be pronounced anyway

G.U.I[Gee - Yoo - Aye]

Gooey[Gooh - ey]

G.ooey[Gee - ooh - ey]

All of them are considered right, why?

Because it's English, English is built in a way that you can pronounce some thingys however you want.

Saying that "GUI is NOT pronounced as G.U.I" is like saying that you can't properly speak English because you have some kind of accent that makes your word sound different.

GUI

You can either speak out the acronym, in which case it is

Gooey [Goo-e]

Some people spell it out each time,

G. U. I.

Both ways are considered correct by the general programming community.

GUI Gooey They both are commonly used.

Although, I prefer GUI because people would automatically know what I mean.
