Can infected scripts from models infect your game before running the game? [closed]

I downloaded a free model, and checked for viruses inside of it and immediately saw malicious code. I didn't press play yet, and deleted the model, but I am wondering if somehow it can infect my game without even pressing play? I think for the malicious code to infect your game, you have to press play which will run it, but I am wondering if it is possible for a model with a virus to infect your game just by being in directory and not even pressing play?

A virus in roblox will at most ruin your game. It's not like a virus on your computer that you download that will destroy you computer. Your computer is safe. Just delete the code. If you accidentally press play before deleting it, you may need to buy a new pc... Just kidding, you just stop the game and delete the code. No harm has been done. EzraNehemiah_TF2 3552 — 4y

I know that it won't infect my actual pc, but I have run into many different infected models, where they will either embed scripts deep inside a random directory, or create backdoor remotes in replicated storage with really weird names.... I just wanted to make sure it isn't possible for it to do either without the game being ran hkmag 0 — 4y

you can run a simple for i,v in pairs script to delete all of the scripts in the model. But that ruins all of the fun if its a model meant to do actions antoniorigo4 117 — 4y

Even if you run the script, the moment you press the stop button everything goes back to how it was before you pressed play in roblox studio. Just delete the script. Even if the game is published, you can go into roblox studio and delete the script. EzraNehemiah_TF2 3552 — 4y
