How to make objects turn transparent between player and camera?

I am making a game where the camera remains above the player's head and wanted to add the effect that when your character goes behind an object that object becomes a little bit transparent so you can still see what is going on behind that object.

here's an example video:

You can raycast from the camera to your player, and make the part which the ray hits transparent. strongrussianboy123 68 — 4y
