Why does every part I spawn in have a weld?

Asked by 5 years ago

For some reason, every time I spawn in a part, a weld is added into it. This happens with all my places. I don't think I have a virus because I haven't recently got a new plug-in and there are no bad free models in my game. Does anyone know why this is happening?

In Studio, on the MODEL tab, deselect the "Join Surfaces" option that is below Collisions and Constraints in the first panel of the toolbar. This change was an opt-in beta feature for a while, and now it's the default behavior that when "Join Surfaces" is selected, Weld instances are automatically created between touching parts.

Turn on anchor. Roblox defaults welds parts I think to "replace studs" Studs are going to be forgotten soon and Roblox is gonna start adding welded parts.

Turn on Anchored on the part to remove those welds. A lot of people like you are reporting the same problem.
