I’ve been playing Roblox for a couple of years now, and ever since I’ve started playing I’ve wanted to make games. Today I was thinking it’s better to start earlier than never, so I was hoping someone could provide some websites or other sources to learn Roblox Lua. Thanks!
Edit: Thank you so much for all of the thoughtful answers everyone! They were all very helpful when I was learning to code.
I started with learning the actual Lua Language. I learned from video tutorials showing how the script works rather then "copy and end the video" style. Next I made my own little projects. Just think of something random off your mind and try to recreate it.
Copying from others and having no context is probably the worst thing you could do. Try to browse the web even though you asked for references, you'll definitely find your style of learning.
You will feel lazy and unmotivated once you start. I had that and It took me a year to get back on the road. Just keep pushing.
If you need help, come to this site! Just ask your question, patiently wait for the answer and ask the person who answered how he/she solved your question. You will learn so much from it.
One of the challenges in programming is problem solving. Problem solving can be developed, from experience, creativity and knowledge. You have to keep making little projects to develop your own sense of problem solving.
You can ask me clarification any time.
The way I've learned is helping others out, reading peoples code and seeing how they function, and lastly using the wiki / devhub found here
I Used CKStudio+ it is a good site for learning code you can find it in the roblox education page; https://corp.roblox.com/education/
