How do I name parts in numerical order? (In a squiggly line)

If you don't quite understand, I want to number a line of parts from 1 to the number of parts. Yes, I could do it manually. However I want something that would be quicker. Here's what I'm talking about:

This may be a weird suggestion, but it's all I can think of as of now. Since your model looks like a mathematical function, we could get the number values dependent on the x-value of the part. I'm not sure how I would approach that though. I hope that gives you an idea. zdragon100 0 — 5y
