How would I have the trail of my projectile placed right when the caster is walking?

I'm having a wand system and having a trail on my projectiles, when you cast while standing still the projectile will go from the tip of the wand to the direction casted and as expected the trail will start from the tip of the wand like the projectile, when I'm casting while walking the trail will begin from my previous location and that is what I want to fix, any suggestions on how I could do that?
