How to fix welds stopping animations?

This is not much of a matter with scripting as it is with roblox mechanics (I think), but it still has an effect on how my games run.

Is there any way to fix the problem with welds freezing the animations of a humanoid or non-humanoid object? Or maybe an alternative to welds, because what I am currently working with requires detailed models that can run animations.
