How to fix when unattaching part to character causes the character to fling?

I need help trying to fix when I destroy a weld attaching a model to my character, it flings my character when I jump.

I tried making the parts mass less which led to them disappearing when they are unattached

I tried making collision groups which make the parts not collide but still made me fly.

I'm stuck and cant seem to figure out a solution, can someone help me?
