(Not requesting a script) How to script a model for a shooting game?

I wanted to start playing around with script to make a working gun, i got no problems with a tool but i was wondering if a model can be scripted as well, let me explain. I heard that many fps games use a viewModel that is attached to the camera and using a server script it replicates the movement that a player does. I really find it difficult due to inexistent tutorial on the internet, or they might exist but i can't find them. I've been looking around for some tutorials and after a couple of days i found EgoMoose's tutorial, then i discovered that it is outdated. I visited the same tutorial on the developers site of Roblox and then pressed on edit on his place to play around with scripts. I found out that there are many metatables but it's very difficult for me to understand the whole process. I saw many modules with very difficult codes for me. I would like to receive some help, some tips and explaination to point me in the right direction. Thanks,** Bry.**
