What is the best way to learn lua scripting? How did you learn? Best method? [closed]

So i have been learning scripting for quite a while now, mostly from youtube, and i haven't learned much so far. So i want to know how did you learn scripting, what is the best way to learn scripting, and how long it takes to become good at scripting.

I agree with Feahren, thats how i got started. Even poking around SH and just reading peoples questions(dont answer until you know more) to understand common issues people run into and how to fix them. DinozCreates 1070 — 5y

Find a YouTube playlist that teaches you what the different components of Lua does(NOT tutorials like, "How to make a working door!", since they only teach you how you can make something, and not why it works) stef0206 125 — 5y

Do not ask primarily opinion based questions. These questions are typically ones that ask for the best way to do something, the most efficient, etc and it's all up to whoever answers your question when there are multiple reasonable solutions. User#24403 69 — 5y

Its truly depends on how you learn. For some people its editing free models with scripts and figuring them out (How I mainly learned). Or maybe its looking at the wikis like the, ROBLOX wiki and the lua wiki. Or it could be watching youtube videos.

For me, I learned by trying and looking up things, and figuring out why it has to be like that. But it really does vary from person to person. The biggest thing is to not give up. Just keep trying and looking around and asking people, and eventually you can do most of it yourself.
