making sight range parts ignore physics?

Asked by 5 years ago

I use invisible and cancollide false parts as sight range for fish npcs but I have problems with the sight range being too light or heavy in the water. I was told to use region3 but I dont understand it enough to make an unanchored 3d space attached to a model. is there a way to have a brick ignore water as if it wasnt there, and if not can someone help me out on region3?

Sight range as in detecting what's in front of a part? You could try shooting a ray from the parts Forward Vector instead. See Raycasting. xPolarium 1388 — 5y

I see some pages that explain raycasting but im not getting a detailed explanation. would you be able to help me out on that? also would it be possible to use the new properties:(Massless and Rootpriority) to ignore water? mantorok4866 201 — 5y
