What does a Remote even mean or do?
I was told on my recent post that I should add remote events on a Rank GUI but I am a scripter and I have no clue what to do with them or even where to put them,
Could I have an explanation please?

Remote events were introduced when filtering enabled was added to ROBLOX. They allow the server and client to communicate therefore allowing the client to make changes to the server and so forth.
