when i switch my leaderstats from script to local script??

Asked by 6 years ago

my leaderstats, cash and stages work well, but as soon as I make the exact same script as a local script, nothing in game works, the stages are gone and in game purchases dont work, it just sits and buffers as if it was purchasing. Can anyone help me?

Local scripts are meant to be executed by the Client, so they won't work when you're trying to do things on a server level, such as keep track of the leaderboard. When using the leaderboard, you should keep it as a server script.

Okay, well maybe you can help me with this. I have all of my in game purchase items in local scripts, because the were non existent on server scripts. But when I run the game and test the purchase it just buffers on a purchase screen. ever had that problem? HappyGamerBro -20 — 6y

if i run it in studio everything goes smooth, I can play, make purchases without problem, but as soon as i run it on a server, it craps out, and im not sure where to start HappyGamerBro -20 — 6y

It might be a problem with your code. Could you post the script you are using to handle purchases? If you are talking about something like a Tycoon game, when I tried putting server scripts in the workspace it worked out just fine. CoosBuckett 10 — 6y

I figured it out! I appreciate it man, if your not too busy, can you tell me if there is a way to track purchases from your game? I bought something in my own game, and im negative what i had, after paying myself lol HappyGamerBro -20 — 6y

It's a game product i made. It's in game cash, i paid for it, got the in game cash, but never received the robux back, nor do i know how or even if you can track it HappyGamerBro -20 — 6y

Maybe buying something from yourself is messing with something along the line. It could help to have another person/account there to experiment with. I think roblox takes a tax on purchases, so I'd be careful though. CoosBuckett 10 — 6y

Oh and when I made a tycoon, I only made transactions with ingame money, which the leaderboard kept track of. I'm guessing it gets more complicated once you throw robux into the mix. CoosBuckett 10 — 6y

yeah your probably right. I almost wonder if Roblox has some kind of hold on things, like a pending account or something before funds are released. HappyGamerBro -20 — 6y
