What size is a Decal(User uploaded)?

I heard it got re sized to 900^2 is this true

A decal can be any size.

You can just change the size of the brick.

The decals can be straighten in any size, but when you upload it, the image is automatically resized to 256 x 256 pixels. See this old wiki page: http://wiki.roblox.com/index.php?title=How_To:_Get_Sharper_Images
