Question about Offset in meshes?

Asked by 6 years ago

I was playing around with somethings and was trying to figure out why is there a gap between my tool mesh and my players hand the handle in other words.

I discovered offset I did a few adjustments and it notice I was able to make make the tool for in my characters hand with out a gap. What exactly is offset and the purpose for it?

before the answer, you should use the grip related property's of a tool instead of using an offset. the offset property offsets the rendered mesh from the actual part, this does not move the part, but instead tells the renderer to show the mesh this much away from the actual position, i cant think of any use for it (because the thing you used it for could be substituted for grip), but i know for sure it can be useful somewhere
