How would I add distributable stats within an RPG-like game?

So, I'm enthusiastic about trying to make my very own Roblox RPG. Now my only problem is that I have no clue whatsoever how to make stat points. It seems impossible. I can work out that stuff like player speed and player health but when it comes to how I would make players do more damage and with their abilities too, I have no clue where to even start. Also, the 2nd problem I'm encountering is not knowing how I would link this to my levelling script at all, so that once a player levels, they gain a couple stat points or so, and then with those they can spend them on increasing their strength or speed etc. Surely someone has the answer to this as many RPGs do exist within Roblox. I would love some support as I am fairly new to coding but really want to make a cool game. So, How would I connect my levelling script with increasing the ability strength of a player? How would I make it so stat points are given then able to be distributed, which would then increase a stat? Any other info you may have, please give me. I really want to learn, thank you.
