Plugins and running the game (also camera manipulation) ?

Is it possible to make a plugin run a game? I've seen a few plugin do this,like in the Animation Editor Plugin it runs the game to preview an animation, for script activite in this time period. So, is there like a function to perform this task? Also, in this state of running the game, can I alter the client's camera? For it would be great if I could! -Thanks
