What's the difference between connect in a function and Connect?

Asked by 7 years ago

What's the difference between Connect and connect? I see youtubers use both and I don't know which I'm supposed to use. Are they for different purposes?

Not really much a difference, Roblox prefer you using Connect that's all. thesit123 509 — 7y

No. connect is deprecated meaning your code will work better using Connect, like said in my answer. R_alatch 394 — 7y

"connect" is deprecated. Still works fine, but they recommend using "Connect." gitrog 326 — 7y

Use Connect because connect is deprecated. If you wish to see the wiki page on this, go here.

So like wait and Wait? The wiki says to use Wait, but I've always been using wait rilgundam 65 — 7y

Well,actually Connect and connect are the same thing. The difference is cause one is deprecated (but still working) and i use it, and another one is harder to write. I really don't know why Roblox deprecated connect to Connect, if both are the same event... arthurgps2 67 — 7y

If something is deprecated, that doesn't mean it doesn't work anymore. Something that's deprecated will still work, although I think it's less compatible or something to that effect. R_alatch 394 — 7y

wait() is depricated when using functions,example: <event>:wait() use <event>:Wait() saSlol2436 716 — 7y
