Custom Chracter Won't Move?

I've made a custom character, but it won't move unless I don't anchor it. And when I don't anchor it, the Custom Character falls apart and I'll just be moving around as the Humanoid Root Part. Do I just need to glue the parts together?Also, my character is a model.
