How would I be able to make a normal part act like a "selectionpartlasso?" Curious to know

I've seen this video on Youtube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D6x9wSz4oZ8) that is quite old, but I am curious how the owner made the tank tracks to work like a "selectionpartlasso?" Is there a way I can turn the lasso into a brick, or make a brick act similar to a lasso? In the desc, he says "Basically there are points under the wheels and a script makes the tread parts connect those points," I am curious if anyone has an idea of how the script works. At the moment, I tried adding the lassos to my tank wheels with a script making them stretch if there is any tension, but the tracks just look weird, as the lassos are just cylinders.
