Does anyone know how to make a raceing item for a Roblox game?

Hello, I'm here to see if anyone knows how can I script for an Item from the Mario Kart series, say like a Red Shell for example. I want it to make it where the players throw it and it follows that player behind him. If you also know how to do it for the Blue shell for the player in first, that's great. I hope you guys understand, I tried every thing with it, so can someone please help?
