There are courses on the Roblox Wiki that you can take, YouTube also has a ton of tutorials and intros to Roblox scripting. I learned from the Wiki, its very helpful.

I would recommend you begin with some youtube series and then when you are sure that you want to script and when you are unable to find scripting methods on youtube, then you should use the wiki. Because, I think that giving a glance to the wiki at first might be too intimidating and demotivational therefore, I recommend you have some audio and visual practice before-hand and then you move on to more advanced methods of learning such as reading the wiki.

There's sure ways to learn without a tutor. You can learn with the ROBLOX's Wiki, or even looking into free models' scripts will help you understand a bit of how Lua works. If you want to fix an issue you had in your script you can always check the Developer Console to find out what was wrong with your code. Hope this helps.
The Roblox LUA wiki has a lot of answers and tutorials on how to start scripting, however some are not always helpful. The best thing you can do to learn to script as take free models, break them down, read their scripts and test the changes you make to them to see what happens. Learn with trial and error.
