I've learned a decent amount on python at my school (just learned about exceptions) and I've heard that lua is not nearly as difficult as python which is already pretty easy to get the hang of. So I was wondering, if I wanted to build a game and had to learn lua about how long would it take and how difficult?
It wouldn't take a set amount, or a set difficulty. It really depends on how much effort you put into it.
It isn't hard. My coding teacher at school told me that since we were learning python it could take me an hour to learn LUA. I think lua is easier if you use a lot of locals to explain the script short, my opinion. It is not that hard depended how you take it like you could use Roblox Tutorials, Robox Wiki, or Scripting Helpers, or forums for help!

It took be awhile to get started to learn Lua, this is mainly because I wasn't motivated. But, after I took around 1-4 months to completely understand it WITHOUT any previous coding knowledge, it was a smooth road.
Since you do have coding experience already, I bet this would take you no time at all. Simply go to the ROBLOX wiki, and start learning!
