Do Linked Scripts Protect Against Exploiters?

Asked by 8 years ago

I have recently been researching into encrypting my scripts for a big game I've been making. That of course has flaws to it. I was wondering if Linked Scripts are unhackable since they can only be opened and run from the original game where they were created.

No, I don't think they do. They are just the same as a normal script, the only difference being that every script with the LinkedSource of the script gets changed when the script changes.

So, no protection, sorry.

Hope I helped! Please don't downvote if I got the answer wrong, I am not 100% sure the above is right.

Ok thanks, I'm just not sure. When I make a new game I cannot open the scripts unless I publish the game under the linked sources universe. wravager 35 — 8y

Oh, that's because, LinkedSources are basically put in a DataStore. I guess ROBLOX files can't store that info, and the cloud needs to be used instead. TheDeadlyPanther 2460 — 8y

it does prevent script stealing because the exploiter dosnt own the orginal link source KFCPhoeyu 41 — 7y
