How do you make a GUI go across the screen from one point to another?

I am making this 2D game and the way how it runs is it makes up a random pattern and you have to memorize that pattern, the thing is it is impossible to cheat because everybody's pattern is different. When ever I try making a script to make it work i always get the box moving at a very strange speed. Please tell me how the script should look.
