Where is the best place for a beginner to start learning LUA?

Asked by 10 years ago

Any books or websites out there that target a beginner audience to learn LUA?

I have no experience with LUA and would like to start learning it, but from a beginner's level.

I'd recommend a man named "Friaza Hyuga" on YouTUBE, he will teach also anything. Also check the ROBLOX Wiki, you can Google search it, or hit "F1" in-game or in-studio. For a little bit quicker understanding "Stickmasterluke" on YouTUBE did a great small tutorial in around 2011 I believe.

I got the 5.1 or 5.2 Lua book a month or two ago. Glad to say it has really helped me to learning the fundamentals of scripting.

The whole 5.1 book has been online for a couple years; Roblox uses 5.1 so the 5.2 book will be useless and wrong in some areas. 1waffle1 2908 — 10y

I would suggest starting by using CodeTheorem's videos on youtube, and then just search through free models looking at their code. If you find something you don't understand, just look it up in the wiki. This answer was powered by Chipio Industries
