How to do a in-game currency?

So I wanted to make a game like SONICTHEHEDGEHOGXX, a city with a currency. To get some cash you buy a developer product though I don't know how this works.

Truthfully, I suggest leaderboards as showing the money. I can't script but I recommend just freaking using leaderboards.
