What really, Is 'Framework'? [closed]

I've heard the term framework thrown around a lot, but I've never really understood what people actually meant by it, Is it like a module script with lots of functions? thxbb's

A framework is a enviorment to help assist something such as game development. You could say a module script is like a framework only if the functions the module script has is multi useful and is used more then once. But a framework could be anything pretty much, the corescripts are per se framework.
