Can a LocalScript Run in the Workspace?

Asked by 9 years ago

Wondering if a LocalScript can run in a Workspace. Given that the Workspace is global for each client, I was wondering something Local would be able to function in something global.

Technically no, it will however work in a Player's character which is parented under workspace, but it needs to be under PlayerGui, Backpack, or Character. M39a9am3R 3210 — 9y

A localscript can only run in three places, StarterGui, Player's Backpack, and the Player's Character, So, in other words, the answer is No a localscript can Not run in Workspace.

Hi. No since a local script runs locally you cannot put it into workspace that's publicly. It works In a players backpack, inside a player, and a players player GUI etc.
read his article http://wiki.roblox.com/index.php?title=API:Class/LocalScript Hope this helped:) let me know if it did.
