How Do I Add HumanoidRootPart?

Asked by 9 years ago

How do I add HumanoidRootPart to a custom model? When I look at the "Dummy" model that you can click in the "Plugin" section, I noticed that it has a HumanoidRootPart that is completely invisible and didn't collide with the "Dummy". The HumanoidRootPart was the same size as the dummys chest.

Appreciate the help.

The 'HumanoidRootPart' is in every ROBLOX Player now, sadly, however, models from many years ago are not subjected to this update; Also, the Plugin already creates the 'HumanoidRootPart' to the 'Dummy', apparently it is 'needed' for the Plugin to work. TheeDeathCaster 2368 — 9y

I was wondering how I could put the a HumanoidRootPart in my custom model. I've tried renaming "Torso" to "HumanoidRootPart", but that just leaves me with no where to put the Motor 6d parts that were supposed to go in Torso. SAOvLucianous 0 — 9y

From experience, the 'HumanRootPart' is something that keeps the Player's Character from erroring when running Animations, because, for example, if you remove the 'HumanoidRootPart' in-game, you can not Walk, Jump, ect. until you Reset and get a New one. The 'HumanoidRootPart' kind of manages the Character, however, it is not a Torso. TheeDeathCaster 2368 — 9y

I understand that it's not a torso I was meant that it was in the torso area, as if it was scaled to the same exact size as the Dummy torso =,) Do you know how I could add a HumanoidRootPart to my model I made? Is the HumanoidRootPart just a normal part that is somehow on the model/connected to it in some way, then named "HumanoidRootPart SAOvLucianous 0 — 9y

Exactly. It's nothing more than a 'BasePart' instance used to Handle Animations for a Player's Character, in my opinion, it is not necessary, and a bad idea, because, in the new Updates, without it, your Character can't do anything. :/ TheeDeathCaster 2368 — 9y

Ahh I see, but without it, will I still be able to make custom animations for my custom model. Make it move, attack etc and what not? SAOvLucianous 0 — 9y

I'm not too sure, because, I have only seen it used by a Player's Character, not really NPC's, however, there is a possibility if you add it to a NPC, it may not stay in place, but, that's just me. TheeDeathCaster 2368 — 9y

Appreciate it m8. I'll try leaving out "HumanoidRootPart". I'll check out the wiki on humanoid and look at the links. I'll try to script some movement somehow. Without the "HumanoidRootPart", if that's possible. =,) SAOvLucianous 0 — 9y
