How far Can a Sound Travel When Placed in a Part?

Asked by 10 years ago

I need to know, when all properties of the Sound and SoundService are at default, what is the radius of the area from which you can hear it being played, or any undocumented features that can tell that? Once this is known, I can figure out anything else to know how far away my AI should be able to hear gunshots.

I really would prefer to use Roblox's sound system to making my own using sounds in the PlayerGui triggered by RemoteEvents.

I haven't used sounds much, but I know for a fact now that when they are put in a part that they arent gonna be heard around the map

It isn't heard everywhere if it is inside a part or model. Aethex 256 — 10y

I know that he was thinking the wrong thing. I should'a specified that I meant in a part. Also, it is still heard everywhere when inside a model. legodudeZU 5 — 10y
