How to get distance of parts from another part?

So I have "ships" and i have "ports." I want to get the distance of all the ships and find the closest port. All ships under folder "Ships" and ports under folder "Ports" and are all parts.

I also need it to constantly check while the ship is moving around to find the closest port.

Im really bad with magnitude so if anyone could help I would be very grateful!
