How do I use not in a condition for things and this wont acdept this if its not long enough?

for example when i try to use not in a condition, it wont work

if Player.Name == not "jixere then
--blahblahblah
end

that wont work for me.

lets say there is an already existing "Player" local and "jixere is supposed to be "jixere" jixere 2 — 3y
