Why doesn't Roblox Studio have permission to make autosaves?

Asked by 3 years ago

I first want to point out that I am sorry this isn't a Lua question, but I have nowhere else to ask this (at least that I know of) so I am asking it here.

I have a game that I opened (Its opened in team create) and I was messing around with some stuff. All of a sudden this message popped up:

Save File Failure

Could not create auto-recovery file. Please ensure that you have sufficient Permissions to path: "C:\Users[my name]\Documents\Roblox\AutoSaves".

I have never seen anything like this before. I presume this appeared because Studio tried to autosave and couldn't access the file. As far as I am concerned, I haven't changed anything to do with permissions or Studio settings. If there is any fix for this please let me know. It's not too important, but I don't want to lose any progress because autosaving didn't work. If It ends up fixing itself I will try to remember to edit this post.

Thanks in advance.

Maybe create a new folder, name it anything you want (for instance I will name it "Roblox Autosaves")

After creating the folder, go to Studio > Studio Settings > Auto Recovery File and find the folder you created, and select it

And auto recovery file will be in the folder you created!

If it does not work, reboot your Studio because sometimes Studio Settings breaks (once my view selector and move tool glitched, I rebooted studio and it worked)
