How would I entirely remove shadow softness?

Asked by 3 years ago

Working on an old roblox simulator and for obvious reasons, stencil shadows would be one part to making it accurate. Games like retro studio have been able to do it which means it IS possible, but I've been unable to find how. Since objects will be moving I obviously can't just use bricks or anything, and setting shadow softness to 0 is still blurry.

If anybody knows how or has any ideas can you tell me or point me in the right direction?

If you go in lighting and change the lighting technology to "Compatibility" and disable "Global Shadows" then you should get an old roblox type lighting..

The issue is, while that would mimic old roblox lighting it wouldn't allow for stencil shadows. Quote from roblox in 2012 "it’s a darkened shadow with pixel-perfect edges that moves with you". If you go onto any 2009-2012 roblox client and set shadows to all, you'll see what I mean. Unfortunately Compatability would remove shadows. CocoDysphoria 67 — 3y

I'm not entire sure how you could recreate pixel perfect edges, the best I could think of would either be that, or changing the Ambient in lighting and making the shadow softness 1 jorcorrs 76 — 3y
