Why doesn't my Texture work when there's a SpecialMesh?

This isn't really a scripting question, but more of a building question. Anyways, I'm trying to make an ocean, and I want to add a grid on top. When I have have the special mesh inside my part, it makes the texture act like a decal. Is there any way for it to not look like a decal?

Edit: There is a part and the part has a Texture and SpecialMesh that has the scale of 3, 3, 3. The part's size is 2048, 10, 2048.

this is scripting helpers, not building helpers. go to places like the roblox devforum for help on that (if you can post there) NGC4637 602 — 3y

Try changing the material of the part to maybe 'Smooth Plastic'. I'm still confused on what you mean. UltraUnitMode 419 — 3y
