Working on a map for an expansive, open-world roleplay project based in a fictional apocalyptic version of the state of Georgia. The game world will stretch from the Atlanta area to the coast, with a plethora of unique locations in between, and many different regions to explore. And although I have a fairly good idea of what I want this all to look like in my head, I tend to get very turned around once I'm ready to build in ROBLOX Studio.
To anyone who has any experience building maps of this degree, what do you do to help your building process? Do you map everything out beforehand? Do you take inspiration from real-world locations and apply them to your game? Or do you simply just build as you go along and hope everything turns out right? Any feedback helps!
Hey for building a open world game you need some plugins you can add waterfall generator plugin for water falls. for a open world game add some hills with the roblox built in terrain editor make some lakes mountains and some desert like areas i hope this helped :)
Building an open world map is not limited like a lobby. You can add pretty much whatever you want, some plugins will be required.
You can use the realism plugin, waterfall generator, part to terrain and load character (lite/pro) to improve stuff on your map.
Building is not that hard depending on what you wish to do. If you mix parts with grass texture with some grass, dirt, sand and other types of terrain you can make a cool looking ground. Remember the colors needs to be matching when doing things like terrain or some buildings.
I hope it helped you in something!
