How should I go about tracking the position of a Wii Remote? (if I even can)

I have been thinking about making a game where you have some sort of virtual Wii Remote. It would be controlled by a real one connected to your PC. Does anyone know how to do this? I realized Roblox has only supported Xbox controllers themselves so far and I noticed a gyroscope property but sadly it doesn't seem to work with my Wii Remote. I assume its because MayFlash's Magic-NS is just pretending that it is an Xbox or Nintendo controller.

Anyone know how to get around this? (Note: I know that most mobile devices have gyroscopes)

Wii

Roblox doesn't support Wii remotes. Its hard to find a concise list but I do know that Wii remotes are made in an entirely different way when it comes to game pads, so they would have to be specifically programmed in.

Gyroscopes

Gyroscopes aren't for tracking, they can only reliably track orientation. They may track acceleration but that can quickly become inaccurate.

Best you can do is VR controllers, but of coarse that requires a game to be made for VR.

I know they aren't good at tracking position, but I honestly cared about rotation more. It would be a great way to make motion-controlled minigames if used correctly. Also I forgot to mention accelerometers could be used in that sense too) youngmacka123 17 — 3y
