How to record key press in a textbutton?

I will try to be as straight forward as possible. I have a text button that when clicked will start recording for example a keybind. I have tried VirtualUser but it seems to not support it for local scripts. What I'm asking for is for somebody to point me to the right method in which I would do this its not a request
