Why is my .obj file not importing correctly into my game?

Asked by 4 years ago

I've tried to make this work but it seems what ever I do, I cannot get this mesh to import into my game.

The name of the mesh is "tree.obj" which is very much appropriate

I've used both importing the mesh into a MeshPart and using the Game Explorer import method Whenever I use the MeshPart, it doesn't load and the part stays as a brick Whenever I use the Game Explorer, it just gets stuck at retrying to import

I've tried using .fbx to import

I've tried using another game to import the mesh inside of and then copying and pasting it into this game

When I used the MeshPart, there were no errors except the occasional "The name of the mesh is inappropriate", which is clearly not true because the name of the mesh is tree

The amount of tris in the mesh is 2,884, way under 10k

I can't get this mesh to simply import into my game. I've looked over so many threads over people asking the same question, and they all end up looking like the person who asked the question was left wondering how to fix this problem. It also seems this only occurs for a minority of people, for in one thread I found it was only the person asking the question who couldn't import his/her mesh into the game. This has been a problem for over a week. Please help.

I've had this problem before. Most of the time, it's just related to the name. I don't know why "tree" would be censored, but it's Roblox's filter. Have you tried a different name? iiWxllington 0 — 4y
