What did I do wrong in this script to change property?

So I'm new to roblox because my friend reffered me to it today and I saw this thing to create my own games, so I tested it out. I watched some tutorials, and I did this script that doesn't work:

local myVar = 2
if myVar = 2  then
	print("True")
end

Can someone help me?

To make if statements, you have to use two "="'s. Fixed script:

local myVar = 2
if myVar == 2  then
    print("True")
end
