First, don't use a LocalScript, use a normal Script. Second, try this script.
local t = script.Parent
wait(10) --Change this to how long in seconds it takes to change
t.Text = "Hello" --Change this into what you want the text to be
i tried doing that before but it didnt work

What text are you trying to change exactly?
i just dont get why it wont work,
Could you put the actual script in the script format using the code blocks? It would help me see the problem better.
