How to attach a model to your starter charatcter but still keep your roblox character?

if i get it correctly you want ACCESSORIES to be attached to your character. just take the accessory and put it inside the character as a child, simple as that (ACCESSORY, not model, those are different things)

No i want to attach a model or mesh to the character, like gloves or shoes

hmm... i've never gone to this type of thing... maybe use a weld?
