Any advice on creating a script that will prevent lag?

The title says it all. Is there any way to prevent lag using a script?

No, there isn't, those so-called 'Anti-lag' scripts are fakes, and do not work.

There is no great way to reduce lag from Lua, although I can give you a few tips outside of Lua. The reason lag occurs is for several reasons, three mainly:

One: Large amount of parts. To fix this, I suggest Unioning things that you can Union together. That reduces the amount of parts, therefore reducing lag.

Two: Textures. Textures on parts cause a great amount of lag. To get around this, try using Decals rather than Part Textures, or running ROBLOX on Game Settings less than 3.

Three: Inefficient scripts. If you have lots of while loops running at once, it will cause a lot of lag, because a lot of Processing power is being put to simply running the loops. Try making your scripts more Efficient. To do that, simply post your questions on Scripting Helpers asking how to make it more efficient, or read up on new tips and tricks on the Wiki.

Hope I helped!
