What is a Good Data Cap To Avoid DoS Attacks?

I have a node editor similar to blender, unity, etc. That allows players to create a visualizer. I want players to be able to create text files and load them into a lua node, plain text node or string node. Problem is the players can make these text files as big as they want and then interact with nodes as fast as they want. If they make a text file with billions of characters in it and activate the associated node a lot in a short time period it could cause at best laggy servers and at worse server crashes.

My question is whats a good cap on data being sent and received from the server per second to then kick the player if they exceed it.

I'm aware that DoS attacks are a rare occurrence on Roblox, I just want to be prepared in case.

I'm not the greatest when it comes to things outside of the normal scope of Lua, but I'd be happy to lend some advice.

Since you're concerned about players sending text files with billions of characters, Why don't you cap the character count to something, or check the file size if possible in order to stop this from happening? Also, on rate limiting, I'd say that has to be done through experimentation. Test the limits of your code and go from there. Just make sure your rate limiter cant be cheesed in any way and you should be good to go.

Sorry for my lack of general knowledge in this field but I hope at least one thing I gave you helps you out on the road!
