What is the difference between "local script" and "script"?

The title is self explanatory (but to appease scriptinghelpers) . Also what does it affect if you do local before a variable For example:

local mouse = game.Players.LocalPlayer:GetMouse()
mouse.Icon = 'rbxassetid://3224820
  • the numbers were random.

A local script does everything to only one player. (The client)

A script is a server-wide, meaning it appears for everyone(This is called the Server)

That is just basically what the two differences are. If you have more questions comment and I will edit my answer if you need.
