I know this is not a scripting question, but it is a relevant and common issue that deserves attention.
Anyway, throughout the game dev process, I use meshes frequently for more complex modeling. I use Blender to create those meshes. However, I find myself discovering that a central problem surrounding the use of meshes is my inability to texture them.
Normally, there would be three options to color a mesh.
One would be to set its color inside studio, but this affects the entire mesh which makes it inappropriate for many use cases.
The other is to apply a image texture. However, I have neither Photoshop nor any knowledge about how the texture is applied, so I can't use that method.
The third option is to separate the mesh into pieces and upload them individually, giving each a separate basepart color and then welding them together in Studio. This is good enough for primitive meshes, but for more complicated textures and models, it falls apart completely.
So, with all that said, I was wondering if anyone knew a better way to apply textures to complex models (i.e. globes) with my limitations (no good image-editor besides GIMP and that's stretching it, no UV mapping experience)
Thanks!
